HolidayPitches is free to set up and free to run. We take a small percentage on every booking recorded in the system — whether guests book online, by phone, or walk in. Add modules like food ordering or season pitch management and the rate increases slightly per module added, capped at 4%.

Is HolidayPitches really free to set up?
Yes — there is no setup fee, no monthly subscription, and no contract. We work on a simple pay-as-you-go model: a small percentage per booking, lower than eBay's selling fees. The 1% applies to every booking recorded in the system — online, phone, or walk-in. Online bookings are collected via Stripe automatically; manual and walk-in bookings are tracked and invoiced to you monthly.
Do I need a Stripe account?
To take online card payments you need to connect a Stripe account — you can create one during setup in about 5 minutes. Card payments go directly into your Stripe account; we never hold your money. Manual and walk-in bookings are tracked in the system and the 1% commission is invoiced to you monthly.
Can I see the software before I sign up?
Every screen shown on this page is the real product — the pitch map designer, the drag-and-drop booking calendar, the check-in screen, the electricity billing run, the guest portal and the kitchen display. Will guests find my campsite in search?
Yes. Your park gets a listing on Camplist, our consumer campsite search site, alongside more than 7,500 UK campsites — so guests searching by town, pitch type and facilities can find you. Registered parks link straight through to their own booking page; you also get a direct booking link to share, embed on your own website, or put in your Google Business profile.
Can I use my own domain name?
Your campsite is live immediately at yoursite.holidaypitches.com. Custom domain support (e.g. book.yoursite.co.uk) is available on higher tier plans.
How does check-in work on arrival day?
Reception opens the check-in screen on a tablet or laptop and either scans the QR code from the guest's confirmation email or types the booking reference or guest name. The screen shows arrival and departure dates, pitch, party size, vehicle and registration, length, and any notes on the booking. One tap marks the guest as checked in and timestamps it. It also caches the day's arrivals so it keeps working if your broadband drops.
What happens if a guest needs to cancel?
Cancellations are handled automatically. You set your own cancellation policy (full refund, partial refund, or no refund) and HolidayPitches processes the Stripe refund according to your policy. You can also cancel and refund manually from the admin panel at any time, or issue a credit voucher for a future stay instead of a refund.
Can I import my existing bookings?
Yes — you can create bookings manually through the admin booking screen for existing reservations, and pull in blocked dates automatically from Airbnb, VRBO, Hipcamp or Booking.com by iCal. A CSV bulk import tool is on the development roadmap for operators migrating from another system.
How do you handle electricity billing?
When a guest books, their card is vaulted with Stripe. At check-out your team enters the meter reading — one guest at a time, or the whole departures list in a single bulk screen — and the system multiplies units used by your per-kWh rate and charges the vaulted card. The guest gets an itemised receipt by email. Season and long-term pitch holders are billed the same way on a monthly invoice.
