Drag-and-drop map designer — no technical skills needed

Interactive campsite pitch map — let guests see and choose their pitch before they book

Design your site layout with a simple drag-and-drop canvas. Guests see a live map showing available pitches in green, booked pitches in red — and can click any available pitch to begin their booking directly on the map.

Two views — one for your team, one for guests

The pitch map has two modes: a map designer for your admin team to build and maintain the layout, and a live booking view for guests to see availability in real time.

Admin — Map Designer

Your team builds the site layout using a drag-and-drop canvas. Place pitch boxes, resize them to match your actual pitch footprints, add labels, colour-code by pitch type, and drop point-of-interest markers for site facilities.

  • Drag-and-drop pitch placement
  • Resize pitch boxes to match real footprints
  • Colour-code by pitch type (tent/caravan/hookup/glamping)
  • Add pitch number labels automatically
  • Link each map pitch box to its pitch record
  • Add POI markers: pool, bar, laundry, shower block, playground
  • Save and reload layout at any time
  • Multiple maps per site if needed

Guests — Live Availability Map

Guests see your pitch layout with a live availability overlay. Pitches are colour-coded to show their status — green means available and matches the guest's filter, red means booked, grey means available but outside the guest's requirements.

  • Green dot — available and matches filter
  • Red dot — booked for selected dates
  • Grey dot — available but doesn't match filter (e.g. no electric)
  • Click any green pitch to start booking
  • Pitch card shows amenities, photo, and price
  • Filter bar: pitch type, electric, dog-friendly, vehicle length
  • Mobile-optimised — pinch-to-zoom on phones
  • Works alongside auto-allocation (both modes supported)

Pitch map features in detail

Pitch type colour coding

Each pitch type gets its own colour on the map — electric pitches in blue, tent pitches in green, glamping in amber. Guests instantly understand your site layout at a glance.

Linked to live booking data

Every pitch box on the map is linked to a real pitch record in the booking system. Availability updates in real time as bookings are made — no manual updating of the map.

Point of interest markers

Drop markers on the map for site facilities: swimming pool, bar, laundry, shower block, dog walk, waste disposal, and more. Guests can see where everything is before they choose their pitch.

Pitch photos

Add a photo to each pitch or pitch type so guests can see exactly what to expect. Photos are shown in the pitch selection card when a guest hovers over or clicks a pitch on the map.

Mobile-optimised map

The guest-facing map works on all screen sizes. On mobile, guests can pinch to zoom and tap pitches. The map is built on a HTML5 canvas — no app download required.

Admin availability calendar view

Your team can also view a calendar overlay on the map showing which pitches are occupied on any given date range — useful for seeing site occupancy at a glance and planning movements.

Pitch map questions from campsite owners

Do I need technical skills to build my pitch map?

No technical skills are needed. The map designer is a drag-and-drop canvas tool similar to PowerPoint. You draw pitch boxes, resize them, label them, and link each one to its pitch type in the system. Most campsite operators have their map built in 30–60 minutes.

Can guests choose their own specific pitch from the map?

Yes — when a guest uses the interactive map and clicks a green (available) pitch, they can begin booking that specific pitch. If you prefer, you can keep the map as a reference view only and let the system automatically allocate the best-matching pitch.

What if I rearrange my site — can I update the map?

Yes, the map designer can be updated at any time. Drag pitches to new positions, resize, relabel, and save. Changes take effect immediately in the guest-facing view.

Does the map work if a guest is filtering by specific facilities?

Yes. When a guest applies a filter (e.g. electric hookup, dog-friendly), pitches that don't match their filter show as grey — still visible on the map but clearly not bookable. This helps guests understand the layout without confusion about why some pitches aren't available.

Can I add photos to individual pitches?

Yes — each pitch record can have its own photo or photos. When a guest clicks on a pitch on the map, the pitch card shows the photo, amenities list, nightly price, and availability.

Is the interactive pitch map included in the free tier?

The interactive pitch map (where guests can choose their own pitch) is a feature-gated module. The admin-side map view is included in all plans. The guest-facing interactive map with live availability is part of the Pro plan and above.

Give guests a map, not just a list of pitch types

Guests who can see exactly where their pitch is — and what's nearby — book with more confidence and arrive with fewer questions for your reception team.
