Everything a UK marina needs — built in

Designed around how a marina office actually runs: visitors arriving on the tide, annual holders to invoice, and a shore power meter that nobody enjoys chasing.

Length, beam & draught matching

Every berth carries its physical limits. Skippers enter their vessel dimensions when booking and only berths that can take the boat are offered, so a 14m ketch is never allocated to a 10m finger.

Shore power metering

Card authorisation captured at booking for metered berths. Enter the meter reading at departure and the cost is calculated at your pence-per-kWh rate and charged automatically, with an emailed receipt. No manual invoicing.

Annual & seasonal berth holders

Long-term agreements with automatic monthly or annual invoicing, sitting on the same calendar as visitor bookings. A berth released while its holder is away can be sold to a visitor and blocked again the day they are due back.

QR gate & pontoon check-in

The check-in screen runs in kiosk mode on any tablet. Skippers scan their confirmation QR; vessel, berth and shore power appear in large format and one tap checks them in. Built for out-of-hours and tidal arrivals.

Interactive pontoon map

Lay out pontoons, fingers and hammerheads with the drag-and-drop designer. Staff see occupancy at a glance colour-coded by status, and visitors can pick their own berth on the map if you enable the picker.

Short stops & overnight visitors

No minimum stay is enforced unless you set one. A passing yacht can book a single night in under two minutes on a phone, which is how most visitor berths are actually filled.

Stripe payments — direct to you

Card payments go straight to your own Stripe account. Visa, Mastercard and Amex accepted, and refunds are processed automatically according to your cancellation policy.

Mobile-first for skippers afloat

Visitors search and book from the cockpit on a phone, often with patchy signal. Search, availability, vessel details, payment and the QR confirmation are all built mobile-first, with no app to download.

Occupancy & revenue reports

Nightly occupancy, revenue by berth type, shore power totals and annual berth income for any date range, exportable to CSV for your accounts. See which pontoons earn and which sit empty.

How HolidayPitches works for a marina

From pontoon setup to automatic shore power billing — designed for the marina office workflow.

  1. 1

Set up pontoons and berths with vessel limits

Create a berth type per pontoon or per finger — maximum length, beam and draught, shore power rating (16A or 32A), water point, and your nightly and annual rates. Mark hammerheads, alongside walls and swinging moorings separately so they are never allocated to the wrong boat.

  2. 2

Visitors book online with their vessel details

The booking form captures vessel name, length, beam and draught. The engine filters to berths that will physically take the boat, allocates the best fit, and takes payment by card through Stripe. The skipper gets an instant confirmation with their berth number and a QR code.

  3. 3

Arrivals check in at the gate by QR

Mount a tablet at the gate or in the office. The skipper scans the QR code from their confirmation — vessel name, berth, length and shore power requirement appear in large format. One tap checks them in, so an evening arrival on a rising tide does not need a staff member on the pontoon.

  4. 4

Shore power and annual billing run themselves

Enter the meter reading at departure and the electricity is charged to the card already on file. Annual and seasonal berth holders are invoiced automatically on their billing day. Both land in the same revenue report, so the season totals do not have to be assembled from spreadsheets.

Every berth type — with the limits your site actually has

Create berth types with the exact length, beam and draught restrictions of each pontoon. The booking engine matches every visiting vessel to a berth that will take it.

Questions from marina managers

How does vessel size matching work when a visitor books?

Each berth carries a maximum length, beam and draught. A visiting skipper enters their vessel dimensions during booking and the engine filters availability to berths that can physically take the boat, then allocates the best fit. Berths with no limit set match every vessel, so you only have to record the restrictions that genuinely exist.

Can annual berth holders and visitor bookings live in one calendar?

Yes. Annual and seasonal holders are long-term agreements invoiced automatically on their billing day, and they occupy the same availability calendar as nightly visitors. When a holder tells you they are away for a fortnight you can release the berth to visitors and it blocks itself again the day they are due back.

How is shore power charged?

A card authorisation is taken when a metered berth is booked. At departure you enter the meter reading in the admin panel; the cost is calculated at your pence-per-kWh rate, charged to the saved card, and receipted by email. Nothing has to be chased after the boat has left.

Can skippers check in outside office hours?

Yes — the QR check-in screen runs in kiosk mode on a tablet at the gate or office door. The skipper scans the QR code from their confirmation email and their vessel name, berth number and shore power requirement appear in large format. One tap checks them in, which covers arrivals on an evening tide when the office is shut.

What does it cost to run a marina on HolidayPitches?

There is no setup fee and no monthly subscription — HolidayPitches takes 1% of each booking. If your site runs more than one kind of business, each business type adds 1% and the total is capped at 4%. The full breakdown, including how the cap works, is on the pricing page.
